Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Matianak was slowly making her way north. Winter was here. It was certainly a more pleasant feel compared to the heat of the summer they had just had. At nearly her full size now, the girl had a natural grace to her stride. She certainly wasn't a poor sight to look at either. She skirted the border that marked the break between Diveen and Glorall, following the water that led to the ocean inland instead, deciding that even in the snow, today was an acceptable day to visit Ruieze lake. The grey coated female enjoyed the salty sea air, but something else was on her mind today.

Her long strides carried her towards the lake where she finally paused. The sunlight shimmered on the surface of the lake, though at this time of day, it was hard to tell if the stillness was a lack of movement on the water or if it was frozen over with a light layer of melted ice on the surface. That was a thought... Shoving Umbra onto thin ice in the dead of winter that would freeze over again quickly, effectively drowning her littermate. Matianak giggled to herself at the idea. Patience, she reminded herself.

As her pale eyes surveyed the lake, something else caught her attention. Her ears flicked at the sound, though she did not turn her head to observe, she was mindful of whatever might move in her peripheral vision. Matianak was playing the part of oblivious to her surroundings, but she remained fully aware. If it was another wolf, it would either be an enlightening moment or bothersome. If it was just one of the random creatures that played the roll of food, it would go on its way and leave the girl to her silent observations musings.
