Had Alder not been in his current predicament, he would have probably found Elina's ranting quite amusing. He was used to his sisters, who seemed to take most everything in stride. He could have turned into a bright red Christmas tree with blinking green lights right in front of her and Olive would probably just shake her head and tell him not to be late for dinner again, and Cypress wouldn't have even looked up from the newest book her loverboy had recommended. All in all, Elina's reaction was far more normal, and that was rather refreshing. Or it would have been, had he not realized he was covered in blood, and that at least some of it was his.
"Mine?" Alder repeated, rather belatedly. "I guess you can say she's mine..." Truthfully Badger had just sort of shown up one day and never left. He'd never really... Oh. His stomach rolled a little again, and he felt himself growing green with it. The woman hurried over, thrusting a cloth at him. Alder blinked down at auburn hair and beautiful blue-green eyes, and felt a little less ill, obediently doing as she was asking. Or at least, he meant to, until he started to wobble a little. The woman darted forward, slapping his face. He jerked, winced as it pulled at a cut, and remembered to press the cloth to the biggest wound on his chest.
"Sisters?" he repeated. He may be half-dead but that didn't mean he couldn't appreciate a rather fine face, especially one not far in front of his own nose. Olive's face, ripe with disapproval, rose in his mind's eye and he gave himself a little shake. "Right. Sisters." He groaned again. "They're gonna kill me." He felt himself fading, tried to focus. Her hard slap was enough, and he startled back into alertness. "The.. Stone Dragon. Olive owns it. Think it's..."
He squinted his eyes, looking around. "That way?"
