Outlaws Training Logs

Good advice

I'd avoid statins like the plague. They can drain you of energy and make it hard to recover from workouts, and the research on them, when analyzed properly, indicates that they don't lower the risk of adverse heart events as much as advertised, and less than most doctors probably think (math isn't most docs' strong suit).

A mild diuretic coupled with the other drugs mentioned here and in other posts shouldn't cause any problems with training. Whether you really need meds depends on what your bp averages. If you're 140/90 or less and haven't had any heart issues, using meds to lower it further really doesn't reduce your risk of heart issues by very much.
