Warning This Post Contains Some Cussing

Going to find Tris was a great idea! Her drunken brain had decided that as soon as Tahl had suggested it. How could they not go find him really? The stuff on those papers was utter bullshit. They had to go look for him really, the dude slept in a super fancy bed how was he gunna be surviving out in their world? Okay Tahl was probably right, maybe not about the backwasher that seemed a bit much, but there was probably gunna be a cook and a bunch of other people doing the necessary shit.

But what if there wasn’t? What if Tris really was just out there in the woods with just a couple of idiots from the castle? Out there after losing his father? She couldn’t understand that. She’d never lost a parent as such. Her mother was useless had left her with hunters because she couldn’t deal. Bryar understood abandonment not love and loss. Even with what she understood she dealt with that in her way; internally it was shit she didn’t talk about because it was uncomfortable. But being a friend meant doing something not that was she was sure what that something was. That could be dealt with later after they found Tristan.

Because of course she was going to drag Tahl with her, it was his idea in the first place. If only he’d stop complaining about it. Really, why have these ideas then moan about them? Bryar bit her tongue as he told her for the umpteenth time that this was a bad idea and she could just feel Wayra agreeing with him. One more time, just once more. She glanced up at the sky taking stock of the stars through the tree branches; they were still on course; mostly. The first couple of hours when she was still a little less steady on her feet they may have gotten a little lost but they were fine. Besides she kept sending Wayra out to scout around see what or who he could find nearby. This was what they did for a living, okay maybe not hunt people but it was the same idea wasn’t it?

Uh that was it. The branch in her hand slipped free and she grinned at the yelp that came from behind her. Good. That wasn’t it though; he just kept complaining; why? With a groan she spun on her heel and planted her hands on her hips, “Yes of course I know the way to a secret fucking camp I’ve never been too before you jackass.” Really how stupid could you be? Folding her arms across her chest she looked decidedly unimpressed. “What we’ve been doing is going in the same bloody direction whilst Wayra looks around for me. And were going to keep doing this until we find Tris okay? I’m not leaving this fucking forest till I’ve seen him. You know I’d do the same damn thing for you,” unfolding her arms she marched the short distance over to him and prodded Tahl in the chest. “This was your fucking idea, you don’t like your ideas, stop having them!”

Whirling around on her foot she started to stomp along the trail again. Not admitting out loud that part of the reason she was so pissed was that since the alcohol had started to wear off her head had started to pound. “Tristan I swear by the Gods if you’re out there get your fucking arse out here,” because talking the trees was going to help.
