Welcome to The X-Files Lost and Found Board.

Having trouble remembering the title or author of a fanfic? Search for it here. Are you a wealth of fanfic knowledge? Please, share it.
But when you post a request, PLEASE be specific in the subject line. Title, author, or genre of fic will narrow down the search and direct
people who may know what you're looking for. Generic or vague "Looking for a fic" subject lines are not helpful, as that's all we do here.
And while off topic posts are allowed, we'd all appreciate an OT in the subject line so we know you're not asking a fic question.
It's all about the fic, so it's all good. Thank you for your co-operation.

And don't forget to check out The Board Guidelines!

Thanks a lot. I was wondering whether I'd end up doing that in the end because contacting people on their tripod and aol addresses would be a nightmare.

If I know an author's name is removed from lost and found I avoid putting their full name when linking to their fic, but while their full name is on Goss and elsewhere it seems a little pointless. Hopefully if an author finds their work they'll take it as a compliment, or will accept having any identifying information stripped from the fic so it can stay. I spend way too much time searching for lost fics, and if I'm hosting them rather than pointing people to obsolete unchangeable websites on wayback, at least I can remove information authors no longer want to share. That sounds like a good excuse anyway.
