THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

Cass
If I can help...I only got a school leavers certificate.
Now...if you look at this string you will see it was started by Les and the time it was posted was 0137 (the clock is currently 12 hours out). The next post down is yours which starts Re (1) and is shown as being posted at 0216. The next one down is the post from Dennis which was posted at 0205 (before you!) and it also starts Re (1). The next one down is my post which is shown as having been posted at 0319 and this starts with Re (2 ).
If you now look down the string one by one it goes...
Re (3) timed 0356
Re (4) timed 0542
Re (5) timed 0603
And finally as it stands as I type this
Re (5) timed 0555.

Now then as you can see the time when each post is done is shown and the Re ( ) business is the order of the posts. In other words it starts with the first reply to the post then the second then the third then the fourth etc etc... ..each one being in chronological order.
When matters are correct the posts which can sometimes be very many are shown in order ie Re(1) Re (2) Re (3) Re (4) and so on and so on?
Now going back to this string. You will note that Dennis posted at 0205 and shown as Re (1) which means he was the first person to reply to the post by Les. However...you then posted at 0216 ( after Dennis ) but your post is shown directly under the post from Les, above the post from Dennis and is also shown as Re (1 )....meaning you are the first person to reply to the post. This is wrong. Dennis was the first to reply then you...the second person to reply.
The reason why your post appears directly under Les's post is that you must have opened his post and then replied to it....ignoring all other posts that may have been added to the string. This is known as jumping the queue and going out of order. It is regarded by all as being ill mannered poor etiquette and offensive to others who have previously replied to a post...before you. It's akin to butting in and interrupting a private conversation...bad form. All forums on the Internet adhere to this etiquette.
To avoid doing this and when you wish to add to a string....always always always click on the very last post of a string no matter how long it is. You then add your post. It will then be posted and appear as the next post on the string...appearing at the very bottom, the most recent reply and in the correct order. Every post will then be in chronological order and easy to read and make sense.
You will note that your two last posts are out of order and are actually the same message?
Hope this helps...always always open the last post on a string...then and only then add your post.
