The forest stands tall and lush here; ancient trees reach weather-twisted arms to the sky, fighting monster-like storm clouds back with their interlacing fingers. Shadow seems to lurk everywhere you look, but it spills calmly, coolly, inspiring a sense of stealthy calm or protection rather than unease. That is, if you've forgotten what kind of creature might be stalking just out of sight...Abendrot is a land cradled by the dark woods on all sides; in the center, some of the larger trees stay behind to reveal a small plateau - a citadel where this pack can gather and defend itself from invaders. There are, of course, softer sides to the land. Clearings here and there allow the sun to throw down its rays in incongruously resplendent gold showers. Ignore the lingering scents of blood spattered here and there along the borders: those do not concern you. The river on one edge of the territory is playful enough when it hasn't been gorged by violent rain. You can choose to note the ragged claw marks raked down tree trunks and the forest floor as friendly "Home Sweet Home" signs, if you wish.

All who treasure loyalty, order, victory, and the occasional indulgence of raw visceral pleasure are welcome, once they've been approved by the ever-watchful eyes of Abendrot's Alpha. But keep one thing in mind: no matter what your motive, this is not a fool's Paradise. This is the land of soldiers, assassins, and spies. This is ABENDROT.

Make up your mind quickly and prepare to prove your worth. You wouldn't want to add to those blood spatters, would you...?

✦Please have mercy on me. Take it easy on my heart.✦

He silently moved through his territory. His body moving effortlessly through the lands like it was second nature to him. Snorting at the falling temperature as his coat shook with the wind. Cold wasn’t something he felt fear in, nor was it something that captured his body and made him shiver. He was cold hearted and his body adapted well to the cold around him. Being a new alpha he didn’t know many things, like how to run his people, how to make them feel secure and needed, how to make things run smoothly, but he would figure it out in due time and hopefully grow to make this place his family and they would feel the same towards him.

Weiss was gone, Onai was gone as well. He didn’t know what had happened to them, his heart was hurting sorely from their loss. Each step he took through his lands proved that his heart was heavy, the steps themselves were like the weight inside of him. It may be effortless, but unlike his usually stealthy movements, they were loud and boisterous. His heart of stone had cracked a little upon finding his Olya and now it was like those cracks were getting larger the more he attached himself to the others around him. I will make this pack strong, I will make this pack a place of wonder and beauty. This is my oath to those who are here and who have yet to come.

With a heavy sigh, the weight of those gone slowly lifted from his shoulders and his heart. The snow capped world around him started to glitter in the rising moonlight. It was a wonder to behold and yet he couldn’t bring himself to enjoy it. Though, just as he thought to turn in for the night, find his Olya and bring her to his den to be warmed by his larger side, a howl broke out through then night. It was Harlow, the sound was that he wasn’t used too. Growing up in a “rogue” family he didn’t know many of the calls that these other wolves seemed to know.

Quickly, the brutes appendages took off over the white dusted ground and sent him in the direction of the howl. He slid over rocks that got in his way and moved swiftly over tiny streams that were starting to freeze. As he ran his mind flashed to the events that were to come from the stranger that approached him and the things that she would bring. He also thought of the things he needed to do for this pack, how he needed to build it strong and have a good foundation.

Though as he thought, he slipped and stumbled, rump over head and upon land on his paws, he looked around and sighed happily knowing no one saw him. Surely no one would let him live it down if they did happen to see him. It took him a few more moments until he found Harlow, gently shaking out his coat he looked at the other Brute and then looked for the danger he was sure was here waiting for him. “I came when I heard your howl, is everything alright?” He cocked his head to the side pondering why the howl was let out if nothing was wrong. He also winced slightly as he felt a bruise start forming on his rump.
