THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

Thanks Les
As an example and to help others this may help.
Once you decide to post a message to add to a string and type your details into the Post a Reply section, the very moment you start to type the B2G system places you in a queue and awaits you finishing your message. Let's say you start to type a message at exactly 2pm. It is a particularly long message and takes up to 10 or 20 minutes to finish. In the meantime others may have come on the board, not aware that you are busily typing away because you have not yet finished typing and hit the Post button. These others perhaps two or three people have very short messages to post and it only takes them seconds to compose and then hit the Post button. Their message(s) will then appear on the string at the time they hit the Post button and in strict chronological order. Remember, while you are happily typing away you are being held in a queue by the system. Once you finish composing your message say at 2.20 and then hit the post button your message is then posted at the time you hit the post button. However, because you have been held in a queue by the system your message is not posted to the bottom of the string, but at the point in the string when you started composing your message and were placed in the queue. Your message will show the time you hit the post button not the time you started writing.
Hence because the system was holding you in a queue from the moment you started typing your post will appear above the other posts that were posted whilst you were busily typing away in the background. It's one of those anomalies of the system. We cannot change it...it's part of the B2G programme. Sadly one person persistently ignored all the etiquette, ignored all other posts and always placed their message in the wrong part of the string or often started a completely new string on an existing topic that his post should have been added to. Thankfully it does not happen that often but when it does as with Clifford, he had the good manners to apologise once he spotted the mistake.
Hope you followed all this Ha Ha
PS ..I am posting all this material of late as you say " In the interest of site discipline ". It will not be allowed to deteriate.
Regards
Geoff
