THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

For Geoff,

Please read again my thoughts. I am not advocating a move of Colours from their final dedicated resting place in Church to the museum. More attempting to preserve of what is left of the very sacred old LF colours before they are totally lost to dust (the older colours are in a poor state). We are all aware, none more so that I of the significance of preserving "anything" of the historical value of our many great battalions that served. The Lancashire Fusiliers will never return for sure. The Options appear to me are 1) Do nothing. 2) Do we have Regimentally (fellow Officers & Fusiliers) the collective support/will to preserve the worst of the worst. 3) Do we have the support of the Vicer who is the custodian of our colours? Only then can we seriously think of the next move. If you do not like my thoughts on this subject please say so and I will quitely drop it!! Regards Les
