Indira knows nothing of the struggle going on inside Evren right now. She casts off the initial awkwardness of their meeting, attributing it to their long time apart. She is eager to continue their conversation, to make up for all that time lost. Of everyone Indira left behind in her travels, Evren was the one most sorely missed. Indira didn't mean to leave everyone behind for so long. She thought she'd be back after a day or two of adventure but fate had other things in store. Indira fell into the clutches of Angus. She became prisoner to her own lust for adventure.
"I-I swam to the mainland." Indira admits what she's done. She too, casts her eyes aside, suddenly consumed by guilt. "Really, I was just bored. I just wanted a day off the island, but I was so stupid. I was force claimed, and it took me all this time to win my freedom and make it back."
Sad eyes find Evren's. "I didn't go with mom. I haven't seen her since before I left." Indira chokes on the words. Her chest suddenly tightens with grief. "She must have gone to look for me. She wouldn't have left father otherwise, and for her not to return..." Indira heaves a trembling sigh. "Something must have happened to her, and it's all my fault." Tears break loose and stream down her face. "It's all my fault..."
Indira didn't intend to break down like this, but the new mother is over-tired, and changing hormones leave her spinning in a torrent of strong, mixed emotions. Though Tarek is a mere hours old, he has a strong intuition. The young colt, already standing close beside his mother, buries his face into her flank. Feeling the touch of her young son quiets her sobs. Indira lost so much, but she wouldn't trade it for all she's gained.
