THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

Hi, Web Site Team,

First, may I take this opportunity in wishing all connected with the LF site (posters & admin) a happy and healthy 2018.
I wish to pick up on the future directions of the LF website statements which are clear and unambiguous. I have no issues with statements recently issued on this subject, However, for sake of clarity, the named personalities who form the structure of "The Web Site " team will prove helpful, monitor site discipline and provide a forum for matters of great interest associated with The Lancashire Fusiliers. Should the site at some point in the future wish to develop and make decisions as a result of popular demand then to whom should ideas etc be directed? The site may wish to consider adopting a Point Of Contact (POC) to which matters can be referred (policy/direction).Therefore, my point is if the LF website is "Stand Alone" with no outside interference being allowed then perhaps consideration of a caveat "where perhaps future military policy may have unintended consequences (such as improvements to pension or welfare of veterans etc)" for the very site we wish to preserve and cannot ignor.

I offer my thoughts as a "stimulus" that will hopefully lead to improvement in the site presentation envisaged by the founders. Change is never easy!! Food for thought - Les
