The temptation to keep sauntering forward until he was up to his nostrils in water was a very real sensation but no, Eto refrained. She had decided, at least for now, that she liked this stranger. He was pure. He was not the usual type she had become accustomed to; he presented her with something new, something she had always seen as unobtainable. Even his silence was not one of scheming but of consideration. She considered that a compliment. Very few did not scheme, particularly when it came to her. They liked her malleability. Instability. She wanted to be more.
So she refrained from all the tics and twitches of her mind and stayed blowing her bubbles and squishing her toes in the mud and water; she even moved her eyes away from him, tried to be less starey, though they seemed to fixate back on him in no time at all. This time though, she darted them away if he dared to respond with his own gaze. Cat and mouse.
His question caught her off guard though and her head instantly jerked into a tilt. She considered him for some moments, her brows furrowed before she sighed. "Is that what you want?" She hadn't wanted to do it. That's what her father liked to do and he had been a bad man, right? But she wanted to please him... she wanted to make the boy who had made her happy, well, happy too. Still - "I don't want to do it, though." She shrugged, looked away, then went back to blowing bubbles with a hushed giggle. "Can't we play instead?"
