THE FOUNDERS OF THE LF WEB SITE THE LATE CAPT. JOE EASTWOOD BEM AND COLIN BOUTTY WERE BOTH FIERCELY ENTRENCHED IN THEIR INTENT AND ADAMANT IN THEIR BELIEF THAT THE LF WEB SITE SHOULD REMAIN AN INDEPENDENT ENTITY AND FREE FROM OUTSIDE INFLUENCE. IN FURTHERANCE OF THAT END ALL SUGGESTIONS THAT THE WEB SITE BE ALLIED TO OR INDEED INTEGRATED INTO THE FUSILIER ASSOCIATION OR ANY OTHER GROUPING WERE FIRMLY REJECTED. THE ETHOS OF INDEPENDENCE REMAINS THE SAME. :SMILIES (Emoticons)

I concur. It has proved difficult over the years to get across to those who view the Web Site just how vast the wealth of information available is. Joe was often frustrated by questions asked on the board where it was clear that the person concerned had not navigated the site or perhaps did not know how to.
Along with thousands of photographs there are also thousands of pages. These did not appear as if by magic....it was the result of hundreds of hours of hard slog by individuals who do what they do in their spare time.
The Web Site is indeed the history of the XXth Lancashire Fusiliers. We may not have the physical LF memorabilia as held by the Fusilier Museum but you must admit their is far more information on this Web Site than is held anywhere else. We are adding to that information daily.
Personally I think we are doing quite well. As I said before approaching 1.4m views must count for something. I don't see any need to change our direction and I for one will fiercely resist any attempts to have us change.... we will continue the vision of Joe and Colin. Period.
