Completely ignoring the border line, Halcyon trotted into Asteraia. His scent was gone now, replaced by some unknown wolf who was a stranger to these lands. His lands. But that didn't matter. Not anymore. Like his father, there was too much of a wanderer in him and now the russet wolf had a reason to be a loner. Revenge. The taste of defeat was still bitter on his tongue and he couldn't have the laws of packs stop him from getting Aspis and Archana back. He needed help and there were a few lone wolves in Moladion who could help him.
Before all that, however, he needed to check on someone. It didn't surprise him that his imprint had stayed behind. Asteraia was a good place to live and Solstice had made a name for herself here. Of course, his very soul had ached to be so far away from her, but he was destined for Aster. That didn't mean he couldn't be friends with the bright girl. After everything that had happened and the losses he had suffered, Halcyon needed to ensure that she was safe. The power behind that bond was enough to move mountains, dry up oceans, and even steal a life. When Rhae had died, the pain had been too great for Iblis and he had succumbed to death as well. Halcyon had lost both his parents that day. He wasn't about to let that happen to him.
The day was clear, if a bit chilly with the bite of winter still refusing to let go, as the wolf made a beeline for Solstice's den. He didn't care about any who saw him knowing that many would recognize him. He was no enemy of Asteraia or her new king. Her scent reached his nose and he followed it to a small den. Gazing around, he didn't see her around nor did it appear as if she were inside. So, he sat by the whole and waited with his tail tucked around his paws. With his heart hammering in his chest at the thought of seeing her again, he wondered if she felt the same feeling too. Had their bond grown strong enough for such a thing?
