As the days wore on and weeks became months, she couldn't stop thinking about Aeon and when she was going to be able to see him again. They were inseparable once they found each other but things just kept coming up to keep them apart. Her mom was overprotective and she got that but Malleah wouldn't keep her away from Aeon. She was determined. Her dad didn't seem to mind so much. He kept his mouth shut around Malleah but when it was just the two of them, she could see the little gleam in his eyes that told her to keep fighting for what they had. He wanted her to be happy, no matter what. He wasn't pushing to meet Aeon either like her mom did. She could tell he was curious about Aeon but he didn't want to push for it. He wanted Lucia to want them to meet and maybe some day she would want that. But she had to make sure Malleah was going to behave herself first.
Her family still stuck to the crags mostly so it was no surprise that she ran across his scent one day and automatically knew that it was a message from Aeon. He wanted her to find it. Her tail started swishing and her ears pricked forward and swiveled everywhere. "Aeon?" Exitement ran through her like goose bumps as she searched for him but couldn't find him anywhere. Then she noticed the shells. At first they were sparse, almost random except that shells weren't supposed to be anywhere near here and they smelled of Aeon. Her heart raced in her chest as she went from one shell to the next, sniffing around them and taking in his sweet scent. She found the biggest shell near that overhang where she'd first run into him and she grinned as she saw the tufts of hair left there that smelled just like him. She was almost going crazy by this point, just wanting to see him.
She looked on down the trail, still able to pick out shell after shell that led further out of the crags and toward the pack lands. The shells smelled of the beach. Glorall. He was from there. He wanted her to come meet him there. She was sure of it. Her tail waved behind her and her eyes lit up as she picked up the pretty shell and loped over the rocks and toward the borders of Glorall. It didn't take her long to find the invisible line. She could smell the Alpha and other pack wolves but more than that, she could smell Aeon. She wanted more than ever to see him, to rub herself along his side and make his scent cling to her as hers clung to his. Maybe she was getting a little possessive as she got older. She wanted others to know that she was his and he was hers. Why would they need anyone else? Especially since others seemed to want to tear them apart.
She lowered her head as she got closer, not willing to step over the line in case she brought unwanted attention. "Aeon! Aeon, you here?" She called out in a whisper, her ears swiveling as she searched for him.
