Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

He had spent the last year of his life watching his mom and aunt pick plants all over Glorall and the surrounding areas and storing them in special dens. His mom tried to explain the importance of the herbs for the good of the pack but he didn't see the big deal. What made plants so important? He saw his dad looking at him more, asking him what he liked to do, what his hobbies were. He always shrugged. He didn't really have any. He didn't know what he liked to do. He played with the crabs and the seagulls and the fish and he ate and drank and slept. There wasn't much method to his days. He was lonely a lot though. There weren't much for other wolves his own age to play with. Everyone seemed to have a job to do, including his parents.

He heard someone come up behind him, his tail instantly wagging at the idea of company but when he turned around, he saw a wolf a little older than himself tugging on a plant. He tilted his head, raising a brow in question as the wolf dug at the base of the plant and tugged on it again, pulling it up by the roots. He snorted, obviously confused as to why the other wolf did that. He inhaled the wolf's scent, intrigued when he didn't smell Glorall on him or anywhere he knew, not that he knew a lot of places. He really only knew the scent of Glorall really. So the wolf was from another pack! So cool! Triton's eyes widened in surprise, his ears pricking forward as his tail sped up in its wagging. But before the other wolf could notice him, he hurriedly turned back around, not wanting the other boy to think he was staring or being rude or something. He cleared his throat and pretended to stare at the water again as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.

He could hear the other wolf approaching and the only clue that he knew was his tail thumping the ground, betraying the idea that he knew he had company. At the other wolf's question, he turned his head, his eyes twinkling in a friendly eager manner as he offered a smile. "Just getting out of the pack lands, seeing what there is to see. Glorall gets pretty quiet. What about you? What are you doing?" He turned to face the wolf, his gaze setting on the plant the other had laid on the ground. "Why are you picking plants? Are you a healer too?"
