He notices my approach, as his ears certainly tell it. I wonder then what a life would be like with no eyes, no ears, no voice...no nothing. Can one really live without these things? Is that really life? Is that really anything? Obsidian growls in my mind and his rumble seems to vibrate me, and how he would demand the death of another of such manner. I find my eyes narrowing in response, ignoring him for now as Obsidian’s opinion does not apply at the moment.
I do not move and yet he manages to find me. I am perhaps a bit stiff when he approaches, but he cannot tell with his eyes. My body is perhaps normally tense, ready to bolt at any moment. His muzzle reaches down to touch my own and I am somewhat wary of this action. I still remember when Lillith reach her head down and ripping at my Roamin, and the memory floods me but is calmed once the touch was not violent. It does not resolve the ever-present tension in my smaller form.
His answer is curious as I tilt my head the other way. Needs to know he would make it if they fail? Well, there is only so much that I can do, and I suppose he has to find the rest out on his own. Ruby wants me to rip his defective eyes out and it makes my jaws clench as I resist the urge to do so. I clack my teeth together a few times before shaking my head.
”Fail fail fail,” I repeat, my paws now moving to pace me back and forth without my knowledg.e ”Will not fail. Eyes will be made, yes, they will be, but what to do with them?” I ask, my mind mulling over what it is she needs to do once they are born. Wait until their eyes are big enough? Ruby says she still needs to rip out Zera’ eyes, that they do not belong, that she wants his blood to spill and his defects removed, but I shake my head again, this time with a growl. ”No, Ruby, NO,” I snarl, my pacing paused for just that one moment before starting once more.
