It is rather noticeable how Valek stiffens, the clear dislike in his eyes making her own icy ones sharpen in interest. She had found that she enjoyed figuring out those around her; understanding their motivations, passions, and dislikes. Was such a lie as hers so terrible? Perhaps. It was certainly the basis of their meeting and a seemingly innocent one - if one ignored the fact that she had caused him a little distress, but really, he had never been in any harm. Except, maybe, from her, but Natu, while a wind-walking warrior, would never go straight for violence. Still, she refuses to leave him unless he gives her reason to. "Have you no desire for your own pack, then?" There is a sly curiosity in her tone; he is a fit looking male. Strong enough to rule a pack, she thinks, but it seems he was born to follow rather than lead.

It drives her a step forward, casual and slow, but her tail rises as well in an almost dominant posture. Testing, in the way that predators do, to see what drives another. It is not meant as a threat, only a way to see if he responded any further than his neutral tone. If he were of a dominant position then he would likely grow agitated and if he were not, he would be indifferent or annoyed. At least this is what she assumes, but she presses no closer. He is intriguing and a rather handsome fellow at that. A swift runner - that was above all things the highest in her ranking for him.

He moves away from her and Natu falls into a walk behind him, tail lowered to a more neutral position for they had established a sort of acquaintance that did not need to be tested further. Pale blue eyes meet golden ones and she offers him a smooth smile, easy and genuine on her tapered muzzle. "Then let us drink," she quips companionably, quickening her pace to move up towards his side. They might be strangers, truly, but she moves close to him in a way that indicates trust and acceptance. He had run with her, even if it had been a run based on a lie, and he had given her his name - what more did she have to ask of him? "It is a freeing thing to travel," she states suddenly, flicking one ear to the side to listen for sounds. This was, after all, still sabretooth territory. "But a home sounds nice. Perhaps we can help each other in our quest for one?"
