It wasn’t always this way. He told himself. At least it wasn’t with Asriel. They were all younger back then, but then again their family always seemed to have a bit more of a lighter spirit he would say than perhaps many others would. Teza didn’t know Eden personally, but his grandfather had for a while and while no great details were given he was under the impression Eden was a guarded fellow when it came to his emotions and expressions. Amoxtli gave no real words about his aunt and Eden’s mating other than he was surprised that Aunt Zeltzin liked him in ‘that way’ whatever that really meant. Teza was still a little bit ignorant despite being an adult about such things. Regardless, his cousin was important to him, maybe he wasn’t like his half sister Zelda energy wise, but he had reasons not to be.

Teza couldn’t imagine what losing a sibling was like, and the toll it could take on someone. He didn’t want to picture losing Tepi, as much as he got him into trouble, or his little sisters. Despite all that though Shem at Teza’s call slowed down so that he might catch up to the grey pelted boy. He drew along side of his younger cousin, not really knowing that he made him feel more like a black sheep in the family then Teza took him as. Truly Teza cared for all his family, but perhaps it was just that that made him feel out of place all the more. His nose wriggled slightly as he sniffed the worn earth at their paws. Nothing out of the ordinary was there, but Teza didn’t really think much about it until Shem spoke up.

Nothing. Teza would have counted that as a good thing off the bat, however Shem’s words made brown and golden wolf’s thoughts pause. Perhaps he wasn’t as sharp as the younger wolf… but he never really took the lack of danger to mean something too. After everything that happened though, Shem also had a point. Things were pretty quiet lately. ”Hrm… You could be right. Things have been pretty quiet since the ball happened.” Teza admitted, but he couldn’t glean what exactly that could mean either. Zelda aspired to have this kind of peace where they didn’t have to worry too much, but things weren’t set in stone yet.

”Hopefully it’s just us worrying too much.” Though there was a definitive frown now set upon his muzzle and his brows knit in thought. ”All we can do is gather information and trying to keep an ear and eye out. The night beasts seem to be gone at the very least…” He wished he would have had a chance to take down that golden bear that had hurt him so, but that was how life was. Hopefully it just died somehow or someone killed it out there. Either way, he could only hope it was gone for good.

”What do you think?” He asked a serious look still on his visage. Teza took his guard duty very seriously after all, and he wasn’t about to take his cousin’s word lightly. After all instincts were varying in strength on everyone, maybe he felt something was off that Teza couldn’t.
