With Beltran certain Maude was in good paws, he set out to search at least one more time before fully settling in Diveen. The dark coated man was concerned for his little family, as little blood as there was between them, he'd been there and that was as much a reason to be considered family as any shared blood. The brute had taken to skirting the other packs, to see if maybe they had taken up refuge elsewhere.
He had caught no signs of Despoina or her girls, though he had caught a whiff of Adrian crossing into Spirane. Though little did he know she had already returned to Iromar after the gathering of two year olds began to disperse. So, he knew to tread carefully, he was not invited here, but he was trying to make sure everyone was safe. That was when Panik's scent drew his attention.
A friend he had run across in the winter. Beltran always had liked her, but never more than a friend. She didn't give him the odd feelings of fluttering in his stomach like Maude did. Still, since he was here, he thought he might pay her a visit. It would be a fair distraction from his worry, and maybe his friend might give some guidance as to how to talk to Maude without making her feel horrible about the way she looked, or her current inability to fend for herself due to an injury.
He followed her trail, eventually coming upon to females, one about his own age and one much older. They too smelled of Panik, no doubt due to proximity, and her den clearly right there. Beltran recognized the smell from when he found Adrian and her stillborn brother just two years before, but it was different. Their mother was here. He gaze a soft woof, announcing his presence, not entirely wishing to disturb the new mother and her family. If they were willing to let him remain nearby, he wouldn't mind meeting everyone. Otherwise, he would also be just as happy to give her peace if she needed it. Panik had, after all, just brought new life into the world.
