Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

”It’s not so bad if you’re used to it.” Of course, only a native to the far north and its unforgiving weather would say something like that. Most wolves up there were born with thick, plush double coats that kept them warm in the winter months. In truth, the further south she got, the more uncomfortably warm she found herself. Thankfully spring was around the corner and she’d shed her undercoat. Tail still wagging behind her, Alyse could barely keep from bouncing again. Even amongst her own people she’d not had many close friends, always kept apart from the others for her training. It was nice to have someone excited to see her, to even pretend that she had a close friend.

Though, as Remi mentioned her family, Alyse felt a twinge of guilt. Her family likely had no idea whether or not she was dead or alive. She’d been stolen away in the dead of night and then lost in a snowstorm, separated from her kidnappers. In truth, they probably thought she was dead. Only her aunt might suspect the truth, that she was living an adventure. Perhaps once she’d seen more of the world, she would go back, but she wasn’t ready yet. She wanted to live. ”Oh, it’s absolutely magical! There’s so much green; and this little flower is so eager for spring!”

She’d only seen this one area so far, but Alyse was convinced that she would love it here. If this was a place that Remi called home, it had to be wonderful. Surely a wolf as nice as her wouldn’t live in a horrible place? In any case it was already so much more diverse than the land she’d come from. Sure, there were trees in the far north but they stood in small patches, stubbornly refusing to give way to the winds and the snows. Here the trees seemed to thrive and expand.
