The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Dexter
male.13 years old.35in, 145#.born to MothxCoszcotl.sibling to Amoxtli&Zeltzin.unable to bind.mated to Tuari.father to Eztli, Lixue, Petra, Citlalli, & Itzel.Taviora

He somehow knew Zharko would come. He heard rumors of the new alpha of Iromar, how he wasn't particularly known for his kindness to others. The rumors say he marks his followers and tests them to prove their worth. Dexter wondered exactly what that meant but it wouldn't take long for him to find out. He didn't have to wait long before Zharko made his way to him. He heard him before he saw him. Zharko was way more grown than the last time he saw him and had more stealth. Dexter barely picked up on his steps. He was like a ghost. Despite himself, Dexter found himself smirking a little, feeling a sense of pride that Zharko had filled out and was not coming into himself. It was almost like watching a child grow up under your wing. He knew he hadn't done anything for Zharko besides try to comfort him in Taviora when he was stolen and promise to find his sister but he still felt a responsibility to the younger male and he wanted to make that promise come true.

He could see the marks on Zharko as he got closer and his brows knitted together in curiosity but he didn't say anything. Zharko still held himself with confidence so obviously he wasn't too put off by the old wounds. Maybe these were made by the new alpha? Who knew. Dexter knew enough that Zharko and his sister Zafira didn't have the greatest upbringing. He could see that in the fierceness of their bond. It was like they were all each other had. Dexter sympathized with that. He sniffed the air to see that Zharko didn't have a scent of anyone else blood related to him on his fur. He was sure if he'd already found Zafira that he would have at least a faint sense of her perfume on him. They seemed so close by the way he talked about her. So she had to still be missing. He scowled thoughtfully.

He still remembered Dexter's name. His tail gave a gentle wag at the thought as he pricked his ears and dipped his head in greeting to Zharko. "I wondered if you'd heard anything new of your sister, Zafira. Any word of her possible whereabouts? Any place I can scout for clues?" He looked over Zharko once more and smirked a little. "I hear you're moving up in the world. Are congratulations in order?" Even though they'd never been particularly known as friends or anything, he did take an interest in Zharko's life. Maybe it would hurt anything to ask about him a little while he was here.
