Glorall

Disaster has struck!
Flooding from the north has taken its toll on Glorall. The large tides combined with the increase in water draining from the Ruieze River has flooded the lower regions of the pack. The sandy soil, compounded with so much water, has toppled a lot of trees. Traveling is difficult even when the water is shallower, with the sandy soil below being difficult to find traction on. The daily tides seem to keep the level of flooding fairly consistent, too.

During the low tide, wolves may be able to move around the higher dunes (with some difficulty) but during high tide, the pack is almost impossible to safely navigate. Swimming is possible, but the risk of currants and surges from either the ocean or the river are very real. The island off of the coast of Glorall is untouched by either issue, although it is incredibly difficult to find your way there without being an adept swimmer with plenty of good luck!

Note: Glorall will reopen once 30 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes. Glorall is currently not open for challenges.

I AM SPINNING IN INFINITY
The woman hunched her shoulders against the wind and rain, giving the stranger a hollow look. Her ears flicked forward to catch the words, and she breathed a sigh of relief, seeming to relax for a moment. There was a frenzied sort of wildness to the woman, her violet eyes sharp and piercing, her body language akin to a cornered animal. "Yes, let's... investigate." She waited for the other woman to pass her, gaze remaining upon her at all times before she, too began to walk further up the beach. Ehiyeh looked around, surveying the destruction, mourning the loss of what once was beautiful and collected. The chaos surrounding her seemed to echo the thoughts in her head, swirling and scattered.

She walked behind the stranger, tucked in behind her tail, looking almost as devastated as the world around them. Her thoughts seemed to cycle between relief and guilt as she scanned the debris, looking for any sign of the death of anything other than a gull or a fish. How could she live with herself if her own darkness had claimed Elohim or Adonai or even Eden? It was her sole burden to bear, however heavy it became. It was her darkness and her pain, her loss and her own regret. No one else deserved to take it upon themselves-- not her mysterious imprint, nor her brother or her children. They were innocent of it, and up until now, she had kept it locked inside of herself. Ehiyeh closed her eyes for a moment, urging her frantic heart to return to its normal rhythms.

The stranger's question brought her back to reality for a moment. Her violet eyes were calmer as she looked towards the younger woman, raising her head just slightly. "My brother and my daughter." She answered, letting out a deep, rattling breath. "This is all my fault. I kept it hidden for too long, too long... the darkness came to take what it is owed, but I cannot give it what it wants. I will drown myself in the ocean, and it can take me or nothing at all." Ehiyeh very nearly spat the words.

The agitated ocean, the disturbed sand, it was a mockery of how she felt inside. The darkness sought to tear her away from what she knew, and take away her tethers to the world. It only came to destroy. It had hovered over her like a terrible thundercloud for too long of a time, and it had grown restless. While her daughter thought the ocean held the secrets of wolves, Ehiyeh knew that it did not. The ocean only held darkness, hidden just beneath its murky waves, turgid and turbulent with the weight of evil deeds.
