I am surprised how the ARCP panel has let you progress through to year 7 with high PC rupture rate and not being capable to do your own list. As one of the requirement for obtaining CESR or CCT you have to supervise at least 20 trainees apart from being confient with your surgery and you have to demonstrate long term PC rupture rates in the ESR reports....I would not jump into to get a CESR or CCT by whatever docuemntation and then not being able to do the job because you are not confident. Once you are a consultant you have to do your own lists which will include all kinds of complex cataracts and also supervise your trainees.
I would advice you to speak with your ESR and go for some retraining. This will help you in the long run. Replies:
