Not enough bugs in the Shamanimals, Merl said. She might wish she hadn't.

Shrieking Stone Borer - the Shrieking Stone Borer, or Banshee Bee, is about the size of a man’s thumb, easily distinguished from an Earth-dwelling carpenter bee by its metallic silver exoskeleton and iridescent black wings. The body of the STB is very round, and they possess astonishingly strong mandibles which they use to carve tunnels for their nests, usually through solid rock. They live in small colonies of 10-15 individuals, and mutually care for the larval Borers, protection of the nest and construction of tunnels. Their primary defense is an ear-splitting shriek, like the bellow of a terrified man, which can unfortunately be heard through a stone wall if they happen to choose one to nest in. They can also bite ferociously, but tend only to do so when forcibly removed from the nest.

Trillipede - So, you know millipedes? Like that, but much, much bigger. Trillipedes grow to be over 2 meters in length, but fortunately they take a very long time to do it – twenty years, on average. They are fast-moving and durable, with a hard exoskeleton that can repel most teeth, claws, and metal weapons. Their vulnerable bellies are protected by a defense mechanism of rolling into a complex knot, with their bazillion legs and tender parts facing inward. They are semi-aquatic and live primarily on the banks of rivers and streams, where they eat anything they can fit in their mouths, ranging from plants and fungus to fish and small animals. They are not particularly dangerous but can be a pest, and are obviously very unsettling to encounter.

Astral Moth - A very large, nocturnal silk moth with transparent wings dotted with spots of silvery bioluminescence. Like all moths, they possess “furry” bodies, covered in a dark blue down, and have long, feathery antennae. Their abdomens pulse with light like a firefly’s during the moth’s breeding season in early summer; the glow appears blue through the soft fur. The eggs of the Astral moth look like small blue pearls, usually found in parallel rows on the underside of leaves. The caterpillars are translucent, with faint silver spots. Astral Moth cocoons are a silvery blue in color, and can be unravelled and spun into silk fabric. The eggs are sometimes used in traditional Shamanite medicines.

Angry Banana - The angry banana is an omnivorous slug that will eat anything it climbs on. It is vicious and aggressive with a painful bite, but is fortunately very slow-moving. It begins its life a leaf-green color and turns yellow as it ages, with the oldest showing faint brown spots. It looks exactly like the eponymous fruit, but does not appreciate being mistaken for one.

Chariot Spider - So-named because it is roughly the size of a chariot, and sounds like a herd of horses when it comes running down the road. Lives mainly in subterranean burrows lined with silk, with single, large openings. Eats primarily rodents, rabbits, and squirrels. They are not poisonous but they are giant-ass spiders so, you know.
