Specks of cotton floated on the breeze back home this time of the year, and Ester couldn't help but wonder what she would see floating in the air here. Stepping onto the grass from the far north, she made her way slowly through a colder temperature area, it wasn't something she was used to by far. She was used to the summer breeze that seemed to hang around from spring till fall. She missed the even-nature temperature that she dealt with back home. She stopped, the moment her paws hit the soft dewy grass of the fields. The land here was cooler, which meant her paws didn't ache as bad as they had before. When it was too hot, she had to stay in the shadows, and keep cold in the water. It was a bit of a pain to deal with.
Go figure, what had started as one little spot on her nose, lip and toes, had turned into white patches that were going to keep growing as she did. She was more prone to sunburn in those areas, and if the ground was too hot, her paws would burn. It was an ever present struggle, that was sure. She looked up, watching the way the soft breeze made the new leaves on the trees rattle.
She watched, waiting for something, anything to happen. Ester was new here, her first day, and she was determined to make it a grand entrance....Somehow. Her nose twitched, and she lifted a paw, rubbing her nose on her leg. It was one of the ever present things that bugged her about her body. She itched. Constantly. Especially when the patches grew and spread, she would itch more and more. Talk about depressing.
In a way, she would think of her condition as an irritant, she knew it was never going to go away, but it would spread, and that meant that not everyone would understand her need for shadows and cooler temperatures. It was a bit of a nuance, knowing it meant one thing for her, and a totally different thing for them.
