A wide river dominates this section of the forest. Romance is in the air, and wolves of all ages come to search for their mate.

Fear Makes People Do Terrible Things  |
_________________________________________________________________________ A warm summer breeze was blowing through the forest, rustling the thick green leaves of the trees and the brush that lay closer to the ground. The forest was fully alive now with the summer season in full swing. Young were old enough to go out and explore the lands, foliage had fully returned after its decline in the winter, and rivers and streams swept through the lands. There were all different sorts of species wandering about the forest in the middle of the day. Herds of deer wandered about, always wary of any predators that may be about. Rabbits and squirrels scampered to and fro around the trees, hiding between hunting for food. And of course the birds were always around, adding their song to the many sounds in the forested lands. Among all the creatures that were out an about on this sunny afternoon was a lankily built brute, alone as he wandered through the trees. He was not moving too quickly or as if there was any particular agenda on his mind. Lupin had little on his mind as he let his paws take him randomly through the trees, not paying much attention to his surroundings or where he was. There had not been anything terribly exciting in his life as of late. He had been trying to become a more active member of his pack, Wudubearo, and so he had recently gone out on an errand for Milo, the alphess. She had wanted them to head out to the different packs and see how the other gathering of wolves had handled all the changes that had undergone not too long ago. He had met with a wolf named Harlow before waiting for the alpha of Graes Waegholm, Siku. It had been the first time that Lupin had gone out on behalf of a pack, and he hoped that Milo would be satisfied with what he had done when he went back to the pack to report. But the scarred male didn’t want to run back to the pack just yet, so he had decided to take the extra long way home and to just wander about the trees. The changes within the forest had happened some time ago, but there were still some areas that Lupin was not as familiar with as others, so he let himself get “lost” to a degree while he explored. He had set out from Graes Waegholm in the morning, and now it was the late afternoon and the sun was hot on his brown pelt, heating him to an uncomfortably warm degree. With the heat of the day bearing down on him, the male decided that he would head towards the river to cool down. He could hear it not too far away as it ran its course through the rocks and trees. Turning to the direction of the water, he picked up his pace a bit now that he had a specific destination in mind. Once Lupin reached the river, he walked along the bank for a little while until he found an area that didn’t have a terribly strong current. He knew how to swim but he knew that he couldn’t fight a strong water current, and didn’t need to get swept away through the rocks. Stepping into the water, the male reached down to lap at its cool contents, cooling down his body as he did so. Once he had had his fill of the water, he stepped deeper into the water, letting out a sigh as it cooled him even more as the water swept up his side and over his back. Lupin swam around in the calmer water for a bit, doing some laps for going back towards the shore. His head was feeling a little funny at this point, but he assumed it was from the heat before and that he would feel normal again soon. But there was something else too, something telling him to be aware of who was around him. He didn’t know many wolves within Blossom, but he sensed that he was about to meet someone important, even though there was no reason to think that. Regardless of why he had this feeling, Lupin’s green orbs scanned the tree line, seeing if there was anyone nearby or if he was truly alone.
