One thing about post 8 is that there is absolutely no uncertainty as to the mission. You need to win points immediately and keep on going.
As opposed to the low numbers which are actually better off win-wise if they score exactly 1 point in the first round, instead of exactly 2. And 3, instead of 4.
So there is a little built-in uncertainty as to the optimum strategy. Regardless of whether the players actually address that in their thinking or play. It's just there.
But you specified singles, which with the 'Serve and Take Control' skill set of the late game elite frontcourters, usually provides a hefty advantage for the server. So if Tevin can somehow use his athleticism to get that all-important first point receiving in the 8, he is ready to roll and serve it out.
