It was almost irritating that just as he was making arrangements with Arturio to make their home here and possibly do something about the young prick who took over Iromar, the alpha had to go fight off a challenger. He was restless as he waited to hear the news, pacing outside the den Belhara had chosen to make her own. He made sure his scent covered every inch of it so no other would dare to come near it. Belhara and he had laid low most of this time, staying away from the other pack members so far so they could see where they stand. Arturio didn't know what he was but he didn't ask so Cuirass didn't feel the need to tell him. Not many wolves are comfortable with the fact that they welcomed a vampire cannibal into their homes. At the end of the day, Cuirass just needed to eat just like any other wolf. He just kept a more open menu than most.

The call finally came and it wasn't what he expected. Arturio had fallen. So now what? He growled in frustration as he continued his pacing, looking to Belhara. Would she go talk to the stars or whatever it is she does in these situations? He needed some sort of guidance since he wouldn't leave her but he didn't know what kind of alpha was taking over the plains he had just gotten the right to call home again. As much as he hated to admit it, he had missed it here and he wasn't looking forward to going back into the free lands as a loner again. He knew that he could handle it and hell, so could Belhara. She was tough as nails. But he felt that his new responsibility to her as a mate was to provide a safe home for her and their future children. That meant a pack. So he guessed he would wait it out till the new alpha came and see what he could make of them.

Soon enough he hear someone calling. It was a female call which surprised him a little but he still nudged Belhara and trotted toward the call. The red and white female was unknown to him but he could tell she'd held her own in battle. She had a few new scars to her name but she had won fair and square. Another male had already joined her. He didn't know the male either so he nodded politely in greeting, his gaze going back to the female. "I am Cuirass and this is my mate, Belhara." He leaned toward her a little even as he said it, his possessiveness showing in the cut of his eyes to the other male before he looked back at her. "We came here under Arturio but I am not so eager to leave another pack. If we are welcome to stay, I would like to prove my worth. I believe I can be of use to you." His blue eyes glittered as he waited for her response.
