Despite his best efforts to display his frustrations, Maiko is simply fascinated by such displays; they were, after all, rather foreign in their intensity. She could be prickly too but not to such an extent - it is strange, did he know? She is, at her core, oblivious to how her presence might annoy him. Still, she is familiar with at least appearing calm and collected and so she simply keeps smiling despite his accusatory tone. She bows her head just a little before she speaks, thinking for some moments of the right words: "It's been so long. I don't remember." She grins, unaware that a wolf who really hadn't even in so long wouldn't be grinning at all. Still, she does her best to play the role of a child -
small, innocent, surely out of reach of reprimand.
"I know where food is though." There is a deviousness to her grin now as her tails gives several slow waves - always trying to seem unassuming. She thinks back on the few caches her family left in Diveen and around the borders, safety nets in case any of them ever needed the extra food. Maybe, she thinks with a thoughtful look, she can give him one or two and then propose a trade. "Will you be less angry if you eat?" Her head tilts suddenly in inquiry. If not - well, she was building up an appetite. Maybe if he said so, she will sit atop a rock in Diveen and eat all of the caches while he watches! She holds back a giggle, forcing her face back into seriousness. No, she wants the trade. She'll make sure she gets to learn from this grumpy hunter!
