I hadn’t met the mountain wolves yet, just heard the words and rumors that they were generally a good natured lot. They were allied with Diveen and Taviora and while I lived in Taviora they were always spoken fondly of by the residents. I figured going to them would be quite easy on Arturio’s behalf, and if all else failed I would at least show face to the Queen of the Mountains this day. Arturio’s reign is new after all, but I had faith he would lead in good time, but after the rather unsteady reign and passing between Halcyon and Aster and finally to Arturio I was a little uneasy. I hoped Asteraia, my home, wouldn’t be doomed to be passed around forever, that someday it would be under a steady rule as it had been with my Grandmother or that the other packs had had for many years. I was doing my part now to ensure we at least had allies to count on over the years, especially seeing as Arturio and the new leader of Iromar didn’t seem to get along so great.

Thankfully I am not made to wait long. I stand still, if I move too much I’m bound to take some kind of tumble probably, so I might even appear as a bit ridged at first but I was not worried about meeting the queen in particular. She is an elegant creature, not quite what I was expecting. Maybe I was just expecting some stocky strong wolves like the Aztecs in the forest, then again Miss Zelda didn’t exactly exemplify that part of her line either, perhaps the Mountain Queen didn’t as well? She greets me though, kindly and formally giving me name and titles. Mountainborn was something I felt I heard, her given title of Bewilderbeast somehow also felt fitting. However she wasn’t the only one to come along. Soon a wolfess a bit more bulky than she came upon us as well. They were clearly related in someway, the soft grey tones of their forms, she was more what I had come to picture as the mountain wolves, but I smiled regardless, dipping my head to her as she came along side and introduced herself as well. She soon confirmed my suspicion that they were siblings, or at the very least family, by giving the Mountainborn name, now it was my turn.

”I am Jinx, an emissary from Asteraia for our new leader, the Arthur, Arturio. He wishes to extend a paw in friendship to Spirane, and I was sent to see if we could form a temporary alliance until he could meet one or both if you would like, for himself. Eventually he would like for Asteraia and Spirane to be in a full alliance.” Though something told me that we would be seeking Spirane’s assistance long before they would us. They were a quiet land and seemed to keep out of trouble. Something I suppose I could envy, though my own nature wants me to be involved, to be active and always working for my home, the land to which my grandmother wished me to help protect in her stead.

I wasn’t sure what else there was to be said though, so my blue and crimson eyes flicked between one wolfess to another, a polite smile touching my grey maw. My dark form though finally shifts slightly, my banner waving goodnaturedly. I am sure they have questions about Arturio, perhaps even what had happened to Aster and Halcyon perhaps. I was willing to answer what I could to ease the situation along. For now I wait to see what either have to say, after all I want to learn what I can about them too.
