Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Kajika

Kajika might have been a bit despondent, but he still remained aware. His thoughts wrapped around the possibilities of what the pack might do for food. Or at least some of the pack... He was aware that some had... different tastes, but sometimes even those were hard to come by if normal prey was scarce. It meant this would likely be a lean summer. And from what he could tell, the spring before many of them arrived to the plains hadn't been much better. Maybe Asteraia was cursed. Or maybe because the plains had had fewer numbers in recent months... No, that didn't make sense. Prey animals would gravitate to where there were less predators.

A soft sigh escaped him. The brindle and white boy's ears twitched. The softest of sounds in the grass. If it hadn't been so quiet, perhaps Kajika might not have noticed. He turned his head to see the female who had taught him a lesson on being mindful of his steps and surroundings back in the valley. It was a lesson he took to heart. After all, there were many ways to live in the world, and if he could glean just a piece of the different ways, it made him better at the things he was naturally inclined to and good at.

Kajika gave a slightly wave of his tail at the familiar face, even offering a bit of a smile. "Trying to figure some stuff out. Not a lot of food at home," he said. Thankfully, he was not starving, and by the look of Andraste, nor was she. "Whole herd, or a straggler?" he inquired, making a slight gesture with his nose indicating the dried blood on her fur. If she had eaten recently, he might be able to track the herd it had come from.
