Persephone watched the pair with a warm smile.

“I’m sure something will come to you,” she replied simply, her gaze falling on the precious new-born. “There’s no need to rush it.”

Her eyes were drawn back to Freya as she mentioned Dogun. She nodded at her words. She knew how it was to long after a person. Even after such a long time, it was hard to forget them or let them go.

“Me too,” she replied, and she meant it. “It’s best to find happiness in what we have now, than what we might have had, I think.”

With a smile, Persephone gave a nod as the mare began to leave. “There’s no need to thank me. Please, go rest. You know where to find me if you need me.”

And she watched them go, pleased that it had turned out for the best this time, but a little saddened by the time it had made her remember.
