The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

Raum could not help the way her nose wrinkled as he spoke about how even her cave boneyard could be taken. The perceived idle threat there was not taken so idly by the shewolf, for she would gladly fight any wolf who aimed to steal what was hers. After all, she had not inherited the trove of treasures that rested beneath her bodice now. She had killed each and every quarry, maimed and destroyed and murdered to get what she wanted. Not every bone was lupine - there were cervid and rodent pieces scattered amongst the rest, but the overwhelming presence of carnivoran body parts could not be ignored.

Words poured forth from the male, and Raum began to grow tired of it all. She looked away from him, her venomous green eyes turning down towards the pile of bones and scraps. Still, her good ear remained turned towards him, unable to ignore his words entirely. His initial offer of somewhere that the others would not bite back had captured some small part of her attention. For although she had grown accustomed to her life of solitude, she was a wolf and at the heart of it instinct bade her to run with the pack. It had just been so many years since such an opportunity had presented itself. While her nose remained downturned, her gaze flashed back up at him when he spoke of the bones that were piled within his home. How someday his, too, would be added to them. The symbolism of it all was partially lost on her, but he had succeeded in at least continuing to hold her attention to some degree.

What she had caught onto was his desire to add to his collection of bones. And that, if nothing else, was a plan that Raum could appreciate. "HmmMMMmm," the sound was almost absentminded, almost a tick of sorts, as she lifted her snout to look at him directly once more. Then, all at once, she was on her feet, standing atop the pile of bones for the briefest of moments before she gracefully leapt to the flat surface of the cave floor once more. Stepping to the black and silver male, her tail lifted out behind her steadily, she canted her head to the side before making a simple declaration in response to all of his words. "Show me."
