Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

Just Your Everyday Guardian Angel
trying to Save the World

The two apparently had very different lives despite living in the same pack and being family. Or perhaps just very different outlooks. A bit of both was possible, after all, Teza had experienced pain, though not as quiet as deep as the cloudy colored boy before him, but perhaps in some ways it had been more. Teza was a child the day his father had been poisoned. Witnessed such a strong, powerful leader fall because he couldn’t even depend on himself to hunt properly for the longest time. Randomly thrown into fits on the ground as his body seized out of his control. Teza had seen and watched suffering, but even then there was the quiet times when he was cuddling with his father, the quiet of peace that had fallen over the lands during his rule, the feeling of safety, and normalcy. He had been through a lot in his life, they both had, just in different ways. It was always chaotic when his father had an episode, perhaps that was why Teza valued the quiet and didn’t look at it as bad as his cousin had.

Still the mention of the ball brought a soft scoffing sound from Shem. Teza tilted his head somewhat, curious to what was going on in his mind. He could tell they didn’t quite agree with what was said, but what part of it he wasn’t sure. It had been a great feat through, a lot of hard work was put into it, and while Teza didn’t attend personally, he did his part patrolling the pack and making sure wolves weren’t going where they weren’t supposed to be. He didn’t get to ‘enjoy’ it per say, but he was happy to be helpful, and he wasn’t sure he would have liked the huge crowds anyway. He let the lack of comment go on though, there was more on Shem’s mind it seemed.

”But it does at times, doesn’t it? I guess, it was before you were born, but when I was a child and father was the Guardian Moladion was all quiet and very peaceful. It was a good time… It… didn’t start getting bad until he took over Iromar.” Teza said, no doubt knowing Shem knew all too well who he was. ”Still… you are also not wrong either. I’ve never been to the grotto, but you probably know as much as I do our family’s are a bit… protective.” He said with a smirk. He felt it sometimes, felt that Zelda kept him back, that his father kept him back and safe from the world and everything out there. He didn’t want to be safe, he wanted to help. He heard the tales of his grandfather’s past and while Teza didn’t want to hurt anyone, he did want to protect his family which meant sometimes he might have to get hurt doing it.

It was shortly after his words that Shem had taken off, leaping up on a bolder in their path with a nimbleness that Teza could envy if he had a jealous bone in his body. He watched Shem as he turned and faced him, saying to expect the unexpected and Teza could only tilt his head slightly at the odd choice of words and phrase. ”I am thinking that doesn’t make a lot of sense. How am I to expect what I don’t know is coming?” He said sounding slightly confused. Perhaps it was one of those language things sometimes knowing three languages could get him so…. Messed up, but it came to Teza then. ”You know Latin too right? Not just Nahuatl? Oh and I guess obviously the common tongue.” He asked. Teza thought he had heard that Eden, his father knew it, and while there were plenty of other distant relatives around, Teza found he used Latin a lot less than his other two languages, here in taviora at least. It was a topic point if nothing else, but Shem seemed to master it all quite skillfully… then again Tepi had too. It made him feel quite slow at times…

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
