Warning This Post Contains Some Cussing

Fuck, when had it gotten so cold? Bryar wasn’t gunna say anything out loud; nope. Tahl did not get to know that she was starting to feel miserable too. Well more miserable. She’d been miserable since hearing those dicks talk about that stupid paper. Bryar was just better at hiding it than some. Unlike some people she didn’t feel the need to whine about every little thing that bothered her or made her feel uncomfortable. No, she dealt with her problems in a much more direct manner. A manner that would make her feel better. Like hitting that guy with the big mug, that had worked. She grinned stupidly even now as she thought about it. He’d hit the ground with a such a thump, it had been great.

She couldn’t do that with the cold though. Couldn’t reason with it, couldn’t punch it. She should have brought more drink with her but Tahl hadn’t really given her much of a chance to grab another bottle when he’d steered her out of the bar. Instead she settled for wrapping her arms around herself and trudging on. Tristan’s camp would have a fire… better have a fire. It had to have a gods damn fire. She refused to believe he was dumb enough to not even have a fire going. If they could only find the damn camp. It had to be around here some damn place. Surely, they’d scoured over half the Kingswood already? It bloody felt like it. This shit was getting boring, and she hated being bored more than anything.

Relief from boredom couldn’t have come too soon. Not so surprisingly Bryar heard the Cu-sith before she saw it. Noises in the surrounding forest sprang in her ears, twigs snapping and leaves crunching; something was coming. A good hunter should have reacted, should have got ready for whatever creature, man or beast that was about to come pounding out of the trees. Bryar just stood there. Interested certainly but still a little too sauced to consider doing anything about it, besides that was what Tahl was for. Plus, Wayra would have come screeching if there was a real threat. It was his main purpose in life to warn her about creatures that could eat him. Of course, that list featured anything and everything that could fit him in their mouth; it made for a long list.

Bryar had managed to turn fully towards the noise when Cel burst out into the clearing and raced passed Tahl doing a wonderful job of knocking him over. Not even bothering to hide it Bryar burst into a fit of giggles as Cel stopped in front of. She was still laughing as he licked her hand and dropped to the ground regardless of dirt and started to scratch behind his ears. “Who’s a good boy?” she grinned as she tried to stop chuckling finding it nearly impossible to do. Especially as she glanced over at Tahl picking himself back up, she choked on a laugh and buried her face in the animal’s green fur. “Good boy, Cel,” she grinned and sat back on her heels.

She was slow to stand back up a little stiffer than she’d have liked, one hand stayed resting on Cel’s head, scratching behind his ear as she looked over at Tahl again managing not to laugh this time. “Cel this is Tahl, he whines a bloody lot but we like him. Even if is a fucking spoil sport. Hunts good too, may need to get you some meat your feeling damn skinny boy,” she paused with her scratching of Cel’s ears to wave Tahl over. “C’mon, this is Cel, Tris’s familiar, ain’t he gorgeous and green?” Looking down at Cel she frowned thought finally dawning, “Where’s the fucker at then Cel? Spent all night lookin’ for him. Some guy was saying shit about him at the Dragon, need to see him cause what those dickheads are saying ain’t right”.
