Description & Rules

OK. Guess who said this (2001)?

From Milford Guest List, January 9, 2001.

Hint: He's still here.
Those fast pelotas have been in use for several years now at Orlando Jai Alai. What they've done is created aggravating jai alai, in my opinion, in all games. In the doubles games, balls that shouldn't bounce but may a few feet in the air regularly go way over the backcourter's head, unreachable for even Erkiaga, and then fall down for a winner. Often, shot that come close to a chula boune out and travel well over 3/4 of the court to the front wall. Or, that same ball will just die. In all, these balls have made players into one-shot go for broke trick shot artists. We must see 30 back courts caroms a performance, 25 of which are way out or dead feeds to the opponent. Faster ball, short points, but worse points. That's why I like Miami jai alai.
