I didn't really like the spark of confirmation from merely touching her. It reminded me of this inexorable bond. In her presence I can almost ignore the driving instinct to touch and be possessive unlike the thing that had driven me here. I blamed it on the fact that Curiass had went and disappeared. Without him I grew bored, and my boredom led me to following that pull. Yes, that was it. She smiles faintly after giving me such a startled look that I have to bite back a chuckle. Apparently she was just as affected as I was which was a relief. I didn't WANT to have to be around her but it seemed she didn't have as much of a choice either in the matter.

My eyes dart down to her lips as she speaks and I frown, ears cocking back to give me a disapproving look. "Mine weren't. I don't think. I don't know... I don't even know who my real mother was." The word mother felt foreign and no doubt came out as acidic as the feeling it invoked in his mind. Malleah had nursed him just barely but she had never been a mother. A monster really. Her words about imprinting finally did cause me to grin at her, that boyishly amused look settling on my face. I couldn't hear or understand inflection but the minute details and twitches of her facial features was enough to alert me to it. Not to mention the wrinkled nose... which was kind of cute. If you liked that sort of thing.

She is observant in a way that unsettles me a bit. Curiass hadn't been quite as observant despite the fact that I was deaf. It took Zanon mentioning it to finally make him realize and the memory causes my grin to widen for a moment before it dims and I tell her about leaving home. I give her a suspicious look at her question. Did she PITY me? Was that PITY there? I hated pity as much as I hated ridicule. I could feel a distinctive emotion rumbling from her with this bond but I was uncertain to what it was. I give her a classic shrug. "Well, I don't have a home anymore," I say almost defensively, as if she had just called me out on my lie. "My sister and her band of misfits took it over. Since she wants me dead I figured it best that I look elsewhere. I'm looking for my uncle." Curiass was NOT his uncle yet the word had stuck. He had raised him and trained him and was more a close friend than anything, but I was not sure how to put that into words so uncle would suffice. "His name is Curiass. Ever heard of him?"
