Here's the problem the way I see it- IT'S ALWAYS SOMETHING! The place was dirty and there were only 3 tellers and the bathroom were dirty, and there were only 350 people watching Goiko, Lopez, Aritz, Cisneros, Ladutxe, Lejardi, Patxi, Ricky, Arrasate, Duke, Irastorza, Rekalde, Jabi, Tevin, etc., then got more dirty and only two tellers and there were 250 people watching the best jai alai in the world, then the seats gave up and got all ripped and they closed the cafe's and the museum and the boutique and there were only 150 people watching the best players in the world, then no more tellers, some great ones left and there were down to 75 people in the seats watching Lopez, Irastorza, Ladutxe, Ricky, Aritz and some other great players. Now its gone to total $h1t, almost all the great players fled to Dania and Mexico and we got 8 singles games with a 14 people at a time roster and there's 30 people in the fronton watching Aritz putting on a show with still some very good players.
Aritz and rekalde and jabi and ricky will probably soon be gone and we're still gonna have people here complaining that they won't go because there are amateurs playing and blah blah blah.
Were the hell was everybody a few years back, maybe 3 years back when we still had the BEST PLAYERS in the world under one roof, everyone is raving about Mexico because they have this tremendous roster which WE HAD 3 years ago. No one went to see them and let's all blame the management (me included) for cutting costs any way they can since no one goes to the fronton.
We had the best show in the world, FREE, with FREE parking, and we let it slip and be imported to Mexico.
Let's get real, they didn't have our (the fans) support and they ran out of money. I'm sure they coud've advertise better or whatever, but they tried that years before and it failed too, no one was going to the fronton.
Well, when it gets down to 10 people, I'll be one of them watching Aritz and Ricky and Jabi and Jon, etc and also the "amateurs" who are my friends.
And when there's only 2 people watching I guess it'll be just Craig and me :-)
Without people in the fronton betting, there's just not much "management" can do. Unless they change management and they can see how having a nice clean jai alai fronton with good players wearing new uniforms and having some tellers with exotic betting options will only benefit the casino by making the place presentable and top of the line. It would only make the place more respectable when patrons see they are running a top notch operation. Replies:
