Enocra Woodland

Pine, spruce and firs alike...
Dense coniferous forests cover the woodlands, with clearings, paths and the occasional wildberry shrub throughout. Pine, spruce and fir make up much of the forest in the east, with the forest becoming swampier in the west towards Mecor Valley. In the west, cypress trees dominate, with fallen trees creating bridges across and throughout the stillwaters.

He could taste the younger wolf's nervous energy in the air but he didn't understand it. Surely he didn't feel threatened by himself. Loki knew he'd neither threatened the pup openly or made a hint that he was in any danger so why was he so nervous? The wound on his eye had to have something to do with it. Someone had hurt him. A nerve in Loki ticked. He should probably feel protective toward this wolf if they were kin. Brothers. Isn't that what siblings did for each other? Him and Silas were never like that though. They minded their own business. Silas left Loki alone mostly once he found out that Loki was silent most of the time and didn't react the way he wanted him to. But Loki still felt a connection to Silas because he knew they were litter mates. He'd watched Silas grow. So where was he now?

The kid was prety clueless about most anything Loki asked him about. Loki scowled and tilted his head but not out of agitation. Rather he just wondered why the boy seemed to grow flustered as he spoke. "Are you angry that you don't know how many siblings you have? I know only of Silas and the children before me." He wondered if that would help. Then the boy yelled a name he did know. Underidge was from the litter before Silas and himself. Enderly spoke badly of him. He called him a bad apple. His brows furrowed. "Underidge. So our brother and another wolf...." He knew he didn't need to finish the sentence. Shadow would know he meant that they killed Enderly. It was still so hard to believe that his father was dead.

Then the boy started leaking of all things! Loki watched the tears roll down his cheeks. "Why do you cry? It's not happening now. It already happened. Nothing to do about it." He shrugged as if that should solve everything. The the boy was accusing him of not being there. Loki merely blinked at him. "I was not here. In Moladian." He wouldn't try to justify himself beyond that. He didn't even know if he would have stopped them if he'd even been there when it happened. He knew he wanted to get away from Enderly the moment he was old enough so he didn't think there would be any reason for him to have been around Enderly anyway even if he was in Moladian at the time. There was no reaction to Shadow calling himself the best. No jealousy, no anger. It didn't even register that he should be.

The boy stepped back, shivering and Loki frowned. "Are you cold? Why do you shake? Does your fur not do the job?" Loki asked about the wolves who attacked and what they looked like. It was odd to think he was getting a description of his own brother. He nodded to acknowledge what Shadow said. He was less forthcoming with the female but he tilted his head again. "Who marked your eye?" Somehow this seemed significant.
