Romance is in the air...this is probably the most beautiful and scenic place in Blossom Forest. For the athletic and determined to come with their mates, for time away from pups. Only adults may come here; some of the ledges are too far apart for teens or pups to cross and some too high to scale.
Fear Makes People Do Terrible Things |
_________________________________________________________________________ Skinny stilts carried through the dense foliage as a warm autumn sun warmed his brown pelt. The sun’s waves were bright as they sharply contrasted the trees, it’s time coming to an end as it began to set and prepare for night to settle in. The male had taken a trip from his home to explore another one of the packs, Graes Waegholm, and to find out new information for his alphess, Milo. He had only met with one wolf there, and their meeting had been brief. Unfortunately he didn’t really have much information to bring back to Wudubearo, so he knew he would need to go back and find the alpha, Siku, before he went back home. It would just make him look bad if he went back home and said that he had nothing to report. And since he had little interaction with his packmates so far he didn’t want their first real impression of him to be that he was some incapable of wolf. But for now he would take a break from the other pack’s lands and go back and find the alpha later. Especially since the one wolf that he had become friends with was gone he wanted to make a good impression on the others, maybe even put himself out there and try to make another friend. But as Lupin’s thoughts turned to Anastasia and the bond that he had felt to her, he wondered if it was even worth it to attempt to get to know another. Halina had left him to go and be with her mate, and then Anastasia left just as the two were becoming close. His track record with making friends was not a good one, and he wasn’t sure if it was the worth the effort to risk losing another. But also what was the point of being in a pack if he were to just continue to isolate himself? Frustration grew within him as he continued to fight the internal struggles of a lonely introvert. It was not easy to put himself out there and so far he wasn’t sure if it had paid off with the times that he had. More and more shadows from the trees flickered into his vision as the sun’s last rays remained intact before finally setting and letting the light of the moon and stars take over. Light brown orbs blinked a few times to let his pupils adjust to the darkness. Ever since he had been a pup he had preferred the night. The daytime was always hot and busy, and the night was cool and quiet. Halina had thought it odd of him at first, and didn’t allow him to change her daily routine so he had to change his own for a time. Training sessions during the day didn’t allow him to stay up all night, but now that he was on his own he was back in charge of his own time. And he still preferred the night. Often when the scarred male wandered through the forests at night he didn’t encounter any other lupines. Other creatures were seen out and about at night, but he encountered that most wolves stuck to their dens at the darkest hours. The air around him was quiet, only interrupted occasionally by the soft hoot of an owl, most likely on the hunt now that the sun was fully down. Lupin was calm and relaxed, not anticipating to encounter another until dawn. His audettes perked up when he heard the approaching sounds of another, immediately contradicting his anticipation for a solitary night. Before he could turn to see the approaching varg, vocals reached his ears, ordering him to stop. Lupin had never been commanded by another while outside of packlands, what right did this wolf have to order him around? With his brown fur raising in annoyance at being ordered what to do by a stranger in a free land, the scarred brute turned around, the beginnings of a snarl on his lips. When Lupin turned around, he was shocked by what he saw. Light brown orbs grew wide when he saw the unnaturally glowing red color of the stranger’s crimson orbs. He had not yet a vampire, but he had heard enough tales about them to know that this other male had to be one. It also explained why he had not scented the male approaching, but only heard him when he was right behind him. There were no good tales about vampires circulating about, and even though Lupin was fully grown now, he was not terribly confident in his abilities to defend himself. He was much more wary about getting on the bad side of this brute, and he spoke carefully, forcing his hackles to calm down as he fully turned to face the male. ”Is there something I can help you with?” He did not want to befriend this brute, really he wanted to get out of there as fast as he could. But for now, he would see what it was that this vampire wanted with him. Picture credit to the lovely LSVK/xathira! ________________________________________________________________________ |
