aurora borealis- noun plural: An aurora that occurs in northern regions of the earth. Also called northern lights.

In the middle of a dense forest of coniferous trees lies the Aurora Borealis pack, its name coming from its location. At certain times of the year, the northern lights appear, dancing almost magically in the sky. A narrow trail leads you through the close evergreens. Giving into temptation, you begin moving your paws. By venturing into this territory, you are venturing into a land belonging to a pair of feared leaders. You have heard rumors of them...but you decide to take your chances and hope that the tales of blood and death are merely fabricated stories to scare wolves.

You have walked nearly five minutes before you realize the sound of paws stepping somewhere from behind. Deciding that you've made a mistake, you quickly turn around, but find that you cannot go any further. Standing before you is one of the mighty kings you've heard of. His blood red pelt clings over perfectly toned bands of muscle. But that isn't what causes such fear in your veins. One of his amber eyes has a horrid, bleeding scar across it, and his good eye seems to stare right through you. His face is expressionless, giving off none of his intentions. You cower away as his jaws part.

"I'm Hell Demon."

His voice was deep and cut through the air like a hot knife through butter. Right where he left off, another voice picks up from behind you. You whirl around and find yourself facing another male with steely muscles beneath his pelt, which seems to consist of every shade of brown. He had startled you, and you're amazed how you hadn't at all detected his approach.

"And I am Ghost...we're the alphas of Aurora Borealis."

His deep voice was laced thickly with a Native American accent. His own golden eyes are directing a harsh glare your way. Now you're caught in the middle...your breathing has become heavy in your panic and you're not sure which to face.

"You've foolishly trespassed into our territory. You face the one called Hell Demon's whose voice is once more addressing you. Get out, or become a corpse along our border."

It's obvious they mean business. So now it's up to you...take your chances and stay, or heed their warning and waste no time getting out with your life.

My Philosophy is That Worrying Means You Suffer Twice

_________________________________________________________________________

The young male felt nothing but numbness now. His body’s self defense had kicked in, trying to hide the crippling pain from taking over his being. It would be easy enough to succumb to the pain and not want to move or do anything. To just wallow in the sorrow and let it encompass him. But that was too dangerous right now. Even though the group had come back together and found one another, even though there were two tempests and one other warrior with them, they were not safe. Scamander wasn’t sure if they would ever really be safe. When Vladimir arrived he reminded the group how close they were to the vampire pack and that even with the three adult wolves, they could easily be overcome. Before, this would have brought instant terror to the young male. But now, now that he was so overcome with the intense sorrow he didn’t even care. So what if the vampires found them? They all thought that they were coming to Blossom to be safe, and now three of them were dead. So it seemed that these lands weren’t safe at all. So what was the point of fighting if they would all just be killed in the end? And that was when the chilling numbness began to take over.

Emerald green paws heavily walked through the trees, forcing his form forward as he blindly followed Vladimir. He wished that he could just close his eyes and pretend that this was all just some nightmare. But instead he stumbled along through the trees, his dark amethyst plume hanging limply in defeat behind him. His young and curious gaze had lost its life, and his eyes lingered dully on the others around him, seeing that everyone else looked as defeated as he felt. He stuck close to Vladimir, though making sure not to run into the taller male’s legs while he walked. Vera remained on Archangel’s back and Adara stuck close to Zawyne. It was clear that the female Tempest was struggling to keep her own grief in check. While Vladimir definitely felt the sorrow via Scamander, Adara not only felt what her own Arcus Irae felt, but she felt her own loss first hand with Fallon’s death. But so far she was doing a good job of keeping it under control, even if it was only temporary to try and not make things even harder for their group.

The multi-hued rainbow remained silent as they walked to the pack that his Oferwender resided in. He just wanted to go back to Vladimir’s den and curl up and sleep. Act like none of this had ever happened. Things began to look familiar to the young male after some time, and he knew that they were getting closer to home. As the group approached the pack borders, Adara spoke up, breaking the bitter silence that had laid over them all. ”Zawyne, I am going to leave you for a little while. You will be safe with Vladimir and the other’s now that we are at Dierne. I’m going to go find Fallon, and Fairuz, and bring them back to be with Vera. I can’t stand the thought of either them being out there alone. Be safe everyone.” Her gaze had gone around the group, lingering on Vladimir as if asking him to keep an eye on her rainbow, before it landed on Zawyne before she turned to the trees that they had just come from and disappeared. Scamander had not even thought about what would become of their friends, but now that the Tempest had brought it up he was glad that they would all be laid to rest together. None of them deserved to just be left out there alone.

And so their group lost one. But it seemed that they were meant to stay at the same numbers as familiar vocals reached them all. Yellow and green mixed ears perked up at the sound, turning his head to see where it was coming from. It seemed that another of their kind had found the group, Nyla. Zawyne was the first to respond to the call, turning to go and meet Nyla from where she had called. The older femme wandered through the trees, the pace a bit quicker than before now that they had a happier goal in mind, but not so fast that they would find themselves in a dangerous situation in the new lands. An then whines and yips were escaping Zawyne as she ran to tackle the dirty rainbow. Nyla’s light pastel colors were tainted with mud and dirt, but they were all muddy and dirty after everything they had gone through. Scamander’s own paws picked up speed, as he ran over to greet his friend. ”Nyla!” When he reached the femme, his purple plume began to wag faster behind him, happy to see that another one of them was safe. ”You made it! You found us!” His excited gaze turned back to look at the others too, to see if they had gotten some spark of life back now that there was some good news to break up all the sadness they had endured.
