Ruieze Fields

Open fields and soft grass...
Ruieze stretches far in the midlands of Moladion, laced with streams that feed into Diveen and out of Asteraia at times. The fields are vast, filled with wildflowers and tall, soft grass; trees are sparse, as are rocks, but one can find small shrubs to hide amongst, and the grass itself. To the south of the fields, a Ruieze River widens, and the ground becomes sandy. There is a small, grassy island that can be reached from the banks, with water-birds often congregating on the island rather than the riverbanks.

Lapping quietly at the lake water, quenching her thirst and wetting her parched tongue, Tauriel kept her eyes up. From her father she had inherited vibrant green eyes, though her mother was persistently present as well in a fiery orange that haloed the outer edge of the iris. It was strange to think just how alone she was in this world. The last time she had seen Everlyse and Reich was in Spirane, but they had long since disappeared from the mountains - and Moladion. With them her littermates Liah and Everett had gone as well. She was the only remnant of her small, happy family left. That she was aware of, anyway. Of her older half siblings, she had only ever become acquainted with her sisters. Semele, so sweet and caring, always there to help look after her younger siblings - and their mother. Camilla, too, she had come to know; but the two older girls were gone from Moladion as well. As for her older half brothers, she had only met Vladimir once, and he had seemed less than pleased to meet her - that memory was only further tarnished by the lies he and his friends had spewed forth. Tauriel might be all that remained of the family she had grown up with, but she was a strong representation of both her parents.

Years of life as a vagrant in these lands had taught her to be observant of her surroundings, and her duo-toned eyes idly kept a watch. She was relaxed, though, having learned long ago not to waste her energy on being nervous or tense at the slightest difference in sound. But it was not her sight that alerted her to the other's presence. The sloshing of another wolf in the lake reached her ears, and they flicked back to more wholly catch the sound as she continued to take her fill of the drink she'd so needed on this hot summer afternoon.

As he continued towards her, Tauriel lifted her head, licking a stray droplet of water from her white lips before turning to look in the direction from which the other wolf approached. She was greeted with the site of a large, darkly hewn male with rather striking facial markings. Though he stood a good head taller than her, Tauriel was not intimidated by his approach. She felt rather indifferent about it; she'd met many wolves over the years, and often times more than not she never crossed paths with them again. But this was where her father shone brightly in her upbringing. Instead of turning a cold shoulder to the stranger, she dipped her head in greeting and pivoted to face him. In doing so she stepped into slightly more shallow water, and droplets of moisture dripped from her chest back into the lake from whence they'd come.

Those his presence had not alarmed her in any sense of the word, his accent and speech certainly piqued her interest. Her white rimmed ears pricked forward, curious where a dialect like that might originate from. Certainly not from anywhere she'd been in Moladion. "A good enough day for a swim, at the least," she answered with a smile. She was at least predominantly white in color, her darkest bits relegated to her undersides, but even her ears and face could sometimes grow hot under the direct heat of the sun. She could only imagine what it would be like for a wolf of such a dark complexion as he.
