Haziel didn’t offer his compliments loosely. They were true, every word, and they didn’t come for no reason either. Ones who got them surely deserved them and Alcmene did much for the pack that might generally go unnoticed by all, or at the very least, perhaps taken for granted. Hunters were perhaps some of the most important wolves of the pack, for if they didn’t hunt for them, how would they get the other work done that needed to be done. Sure, Haziel now didn’t do much for the pack as he used too, but he was confused about what he should do with himself. He had some talents after all, ones that were truly unique to him because of his condition, but as many extra abilities as he had, there was a hindrance for each too.
His feelings for Alcmene though might have been… mixed because Haziel never really thought of a life like that for him. He was always a bit of a loner, the most love he had for anyone was for his littermates, Alcmene wasn’t his family, but the bond he had with her via imprinting was strong. He just didn’t know what to do with it. Naive perhaps on how to show affection for not really seeing it or hearing it much given his own nature. So he was just confused as she was in that regard, uncertain, for it was just as new to him as it was to her. They were always good to eachother though, the proof shown then as she offered him some of the kill. He would be eating good for today, and maybe the next few perhaps, a blessing. He only regretted that he could not offer her much more in return seeing as he couldn’t exactly council her. Heal perhaps, but she was talented that she never really had need for it. Better that way in all honesty.
”Thank you then, Alcmene, someday I will have to try to return the favor. Just let me know if you need me.” He dipped his head to her in thanks, though he could not see her bloodied form, a trickle of discomfort was coming through to him though he couldn’t tell exactly what it was. It wasn’t a secret for long, the waves were lapping at the shores, and her voice carried to him telling him she was going to wash off in the sea waters before delivering the meal. It was her offer that was a bit surprising but not unwelcome and his reply came without hesitation.
”Yes, I would like that very much.” A smile tugged at his muzzle then. Swimming was always… well a bit dangerous for him, particularly on his own. Sure his nose could get him back to shore, but the scents on the water flitted about relentlessly with the flow of water and salt water particularly was hard to navigate in without someone calling for him at land he could risk getting lost or worse. He drew up next to her easily, and had it been anyone else, save maybe Nahal, he wouldn’t have dared go on such a venture. His black fur easily melded with her own, his shoulder touching just behind her own so that she might lead him
Easily he followed her, moving along side, pausing a second when the water first touched his toes before slowly wading more and more in. Slowly his world was becoming darker. Scents muddling up, the sound of water and waves filling his ears, but he could feel her, her legs kicking in the water, her breath just barely audible over the waves but there none the less. It was a terrifying, feeling being truly blind and lost, but it wasn’t there because she was with him. Still his heart skipped a few beats, and raced slightly. It wasn’t something he was wholly familiar with, but soon the safe feeling of her being there, guiding him returned him to calm. A sigh came from his maw at the strange feeling that always came when swimming, like they were gliding. His legs kicking out under him with no ground it was very rare for him to experience such a thing. He was enjoying it too, it was a rare experience for him after all.
”This is, always a strange feeling, but a good feeling.” He said paddling about, for a second getting a little brave and swimming off, before quickly returning to her, not wanting to stray far. ”How far is that island?” He asked, keeping himself close. He didn’t think it was an adventure for today, after all she had a meal to deliver to dens, but as comfortable as he was, perhaps he would finally get to visit that little piece of land that was always so far for him. Perhaps she would let him repay the favor and help take meals around the pack, he certainly could manage that much as repayment for this, as well as the food he would be getting. Could also prove as a good excuse to see her more often, after all, he had time on his paws, he could help her get some more time of her own too.
