Quiet. The other girl was quiet. She watched and Beltane truly felt watched. The sensation was not enough to make her pause though and she continued on with her ramblings and wonderings before she swung about in search of her answer; ah, the other woman could watch but she could not handle being watched in turn? Curious, curious. Beltane enjoyed the perceived frailty of her companion. She was always excited when something new entered her life. New energies, new names.
Her response made Beltane's head jerk into a tilted position, bewildered expression for a moment before it was replaced with furrowed brows and a "hmm" of internal inquiry. Gift? Zharko? The thought made her bristle for a moment if only for its absurdity. Could lives be gifts? She had never encountered such a thought before. The dead didn't have any answers for that either - they had lost their lives, after all. They had no lives to gift. "Brought for him. But not kept by him." She stated as if a fact for she could find no indication of the Commander nearby. "Do you like being a gift?" It was the only way she could rationalize it: why else had the girl stayed here? It had not occurred to her that perhaps the girl was more watched than Beltane knew. After all, Beltane was rather...separated from the politics of the pack.
But the girl's question caught her off guard. Her response was to grin - arguably, a kind grin. Serene as her eyes rolled back and towards the direction of the boneyard that marked the inner region of the pack. "I follow the dead." She spoke with a shrug, as if the woman should have known such a thing, as if the very idea that Beltane followed anybody other than them was absurd. "This place. So much energy here. He? Ah, given a title but that is all. Need to recognize the title if I am to stay." She tilted her head again. "Do you understand?"
She stepped forward then and gave Wren a small sniff. Somewhere beneath the bogs and moors was an outsider. "Diveen." She reaffirmed before she pulled back. "Do you follow the alphas or the land?"
