Kajika wouldn't deny that she was rather quiet on her feet. He could still hear her, but that could easily be attributed to either him being so close or his hyper-awareness of his surroundings. The brindled and white male continued moving through the trees with ease as they moved further and further westward. He wasn't too keen on being either this close to Taviora or so far from Asteraia. There was a reason he left. Now, he was bringing someone towards that safety. A complete stranger at that.
The young male stopped suddenly after she spoke. Kajika got quiet for a moment, his ears laid back as he listened to why she left. Where she came from, that was clearly Asteraia. It was the only pack that had changed paws this recently. A small frown creased his maw. Whoever her mother was, she was clearly jumping to conclusions over a wolf, as far as he knew, that they didn't even know.
"Jumping to conclusions there a bit, don't you think?" he said, looking to Maris from where he now stood. His cerulean gaze was a bit critical, almost wondering why, as close to adulthood as his present companion was, why she was lingering so close to her parents. Not that Kajika was one to speak, he had stayed in Taviora right up until his father had gotten very sick. That soul bond between his parents had killed Jinan. A small huff escaped him. She might not do well in Asteraia in it's present state. Maybe he could convince her to give it a chance?
