Ernesto chuckled at the colt’s reaction. He had not expected his native tongue to have such an effect on Santiago, but it was certainly entertaining. He watched fondly as Selenium explained away the words as magic to the colt, although his eyes were drawn to a moment to Silicon just a little way away.

She moved closer and her ears seemed to twitch in their direction.

“Maybe I could teach you sometime,” he replied with a grin. “Your sister, too.”

He glanced over in her direction a moment before returning his attention to Santiago and Selenium. He was never sure what reaction he would get from his daughter, but that didn’t stop him from including her regardless.

Ernesto offered a grin to Selenium at the mention of her aching ears. He turned to his son and tossed his head in the direction of the depths of the Lagoon.

“I can show you around if you want, pequeño,” he offered, guessing the adventure would be tantalising for the excitable child.
