Notice in the RAAF News, last week, photo of 3 L/Ms being a CDS. What bought my attention to it was the L/M were wearing built in intercom headsets, no need for a long lead during drops. This reminded me of Col Tigewell trying to have the RAAF purchase this item for L/MS in the sixties. No lick as the bean keepers were to mean and we weren't important enough. Nice try Col it only took them 58 years to get the kit. The other thing of note was the fact that a chain was used for aft restraint, we threw that technique away in the 60's and invented strap gates, my how we seem to progress backwards.
