He really didn't think he'd enjoy being reduced to a lowly thief when the new alpha took over Asteraia. He was too cozy in his position from Iromar, where he was more of an enforcer. He did so have fun torturing that little assassin, Arace, when she got out of hand and needed to be taught a lesson. She killed a member of Iromar so he had no sympathy for her. Even though he didn't know the female she killed, it was a reason to do someone harm and he would never say no to that. In a way, Pine fed his Demonican spirit and he loved that. He had accepted a long time ago that he was a cannibal and a vampire and that's just the way he would always be. He couldn't change it even if he tried.
He didn't think being a thief would be half as fun but he was finding out as he went along that it was actually quite enjoyable. He randomly picked victims and went after them. Sometimes he was successful and sometimes they managed to get away but the challenge of whether he'd get his prize or not was half the fun. The real fun started when he got to bring them home and play with their minds a little bit. He got to be just as much as an asshole as he wanted to be. He thought of them as play toys. Maybe not all of them would stay. Hell, maybe none of them would. But all of them that came would get a good taste of what kind of monsters lived in Asteraia so they could tell everyone else about it. Let Iromar have its rumors of evil. Asteraia would be hot on their tails soon enough cause Cuirass was just getting started.
He glanced up from the bone he was chewing on when a call rang out through the packlands. Ah, the alpha. He didn't even know her name but that wasn't a big thing for him. He didn't know the name of most of the wolves he kidnapped. He was enjoying giving them nicknames though. And besides Pine, he didn't really keep the names of his alphas either. The one he was raised under was always known as the Monster to everyone including him but he didn't care. What's in a name? He got up and headed toward the call, not even bothering to put away the bone. He'd be back for it and there'd be hell to pay for any who thought to take it in the meantime. His pace picked up to a lope, not wanting to keep the alpha waiting too long.
Soon enough he saw her familiar red and white form. Slowing down, he dipped his head in greeting, his blue eyes looking to hers with open curiosity. Besides the meeting, he was pretty sure this was the first time he'd get a one on one with the alpha and actually get to talk to her a little. Maybe he'd finally learn a little something about the wolf who gave him the job he was having so much fun with. His lips tugged into a smirk as his ears pricked. "You rang?"
