The girls were so pleased to meet each and every one of Effie's furry friends, smiling to each of them as they were introduced. They weren't used to talking animals, so were a bit surprised by that fact. What they do remember of their previous home, was that animals most certainly did not talk. But of course they certainly wish that their trusted pony did. "It's so wonderful to meet you all tiny friends." Lilli says warmly as she continues to eat her half of the roll.
"If only your pony could talk to us, Lilli. Could you imagine?" Milena says laughing softly and bumping her sisters shoulder with her own. Lilli nods her head in agreeance as she looks back over her shoulder at the pretty little palomino welsh pony standing patiently at the edge of the market with the other equines. It was at that moment that her attention is brought back to Effie and her friends when they were asked if they would like to hold one of them.
There was no hiding the look of surprise and excitement on their faces. They both nodded their heads and said "Yes please!" in unisom. They both take hold of Effie's hands without even thinking and lead her toward a table that had just become available near the horses. Lilliana takes the basket from Milena and sets them both down on the table. Both stand in anticipation, trying to remain calm and hold their hands out open. |
